About the Role
As an Electrician / Electrical Fitter, you will be responsible for the service and maintenance of surburban train fleet vehicles based out of our Bayswater Depot. This role is pivotal to ensuring safe and reliable running of the train fleet. This role reports in to the Production Coordinator and Depot Manager and is a full-time permanent position. Please note there are different shifts available, please speak to Holly Rees for more information on this.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct safety procedures
- Perform examination tasks on fleet
- Inspect train electrical systems
- Implement necessary train modifications
- Troubleshoot electrical systems
- Interpret electrical drawings
- Adhere to Metro’s Quality System
- Participate in multi-skilled training activities within your competency
- Complete tasks in accordance with approved standards and instructions
- Respond to incidents such as derailments, collisions, and other events that involve rolling stock
- Record and report work performed
About You
- Relevant trade qualification as an A-Grade Electrician or other relevant Electrical discipline
- To be able to have the flexibility for overtime where required including weekends and public holidays
- Valid Australian Driver's Licence
- Demonstrated experience as an electrician, desirable to have worked within a similar industry
- Previous experience in a maintenance role and a fast paced environment is advantageous
- Proficient in electrical troubleshooting and root cause analysis
Additional Requirements:
- If successful, you will need to obtain and maintain the following certifications:
- Track Safety Awareness (Level 1)
- Train Track Safety Awareness (Level 3)
- Rail Safety Competency and Medical Assessment (Category 3)
- Qualified in First Aid (Level 2)
