About the position
The Senior Communications Advisor will deliver internal communications and media relations to support key priorities across Metro Trains, as part of the wider Communications and External Affairs teams.
It’s an exciting time to join us as you will be involved in communications to support the opening of the Metro Tunnel, timetable changes, and key initiatives to assist our frontline staff and manage reputation.
This is a 12 month max term contract position based at 700 Collins Street with a hybrid working environment.
Due to the nature of this position and the upcoming Metro Tunnel opening, full availability will be required between November 2025 to March 2026, along with the flexibility to participate in the media weekend roster every 4-5 weekends.
About you
- Tertiary qualification in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations or Marketing
- Experience working in both external and internal communications with a focus on communicating with frontline/operational employees
- Comprehensive experience across all core content channels including online, print and social media.
- Excellent writing and editorial skills and the ability to work under pressure in an evolving environment and meet tight deadlines.
