About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Controller within Franchise to be responsible for coordaining the cost control function for projects and programs of works. You’ll develop and manage detailed cost forecasts and ensure they are monitored and reported accurate inline with the project and program progress. You’ll provide technical and strategic advice and support to Project Managers and Program Managers within the Franchisee portfolio across the project lifecycle.

This role is a permanent role within based at our Collins Street Office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain program level cost reports across various project types and divisions, producing tailored reports to meet the requirements of both internal and external stakeholders
  • You’ll develop and maintain project cost reports, providing progress reports for projects throughout their lifecycle. Rollup cost reports into overall program cost reports and present overall cost reports where required.
  • Lead in the reporting with a strong focus on excel data models and power queries to support the reporting requirements to internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure that cost control procedures and processes including WBS, monthly report, change control, management of budgets, forecasting, financial support relating to contract administration to ensure consistent across the portfolio
  • Establish Work Order Number (WON) structures and budget establishment, ensuring correct cost allocations against appropriate work orders
  • Support with the roll out of continuous improvement initiatives to ensure project teams aware and compliance to the MTM Project management framework
  • Build strong relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders across Finance, Commercial, Procurement, planning and estimating to ensure awareness around project controls

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel Data Models and Powery Query to support the unique reporting requirements on the OCMS HWRF project
  • Tertiary qualification in project management, engineering, finance/business or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience as a Cost Controller and project management techniques
  • High level of experience in using cost control systems and tools.
  •  Communicate with influence with a range of different stakeholders across a multidisciplinary environment Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders both
  • Advanced working knowledge of PowerBI to support development of reporting and analytical enhancements within the Franchise SPOCS team
