We are currently looking for a Senior Project Manager- Delivery to support our Level Crossing Removal Program of works on the South Eastern Program Alliance (SEPA).


About the role:


Reporting directly to the Program Manager, in this role you will drive and support MTM objectives on the Alliance to meet our goals within the safety, time, cost and quality parameters determined for the Bedford Road Project. 


This is a full-time permanent role, primarily based at our site offices, with some travel to our offices in Melbourne’s CBD, where required. 

This role will require you to be available for rail Occupations (shutting the rail network down for construction activities to safely take place); Occupations can take place at night, weekends or, public holidays. 


With the Victorian Government announcing extra funding and fast-tracked projects in light of the current global pandemic, MTM Projects team will continue to play a vital part in revitalising the Victorian economy.


Key Areas of Responsibility


  • Deliver and monitor assigned projects to ensure their completion on time and within budget, with all project risks mitigated to minimise their effect on train operations whilst ensuring that construction standards are maintained and conform to applicable safety, reliability and quality standards
  • Manage all aspects of allocated projects in conjunction with clients, designers and contractors to progress projects through procurement into the delivery phase
  • Identify and resolve issues associated with Scope, Design, Estimation, Scheduling, Risk Management
  • Ensure MTM’s V/Lines and ARTC’s accreditation requirements are met consistent with a Rail Transport Operator as defined by ONRSR
  • Ensure MTM’s, V/Lines and ARTC’s Engineering Change and Management of Change requirements are met
  • Provide leadership, coaching and guidance to the MTM project delivery team and others within an alliance environment
  • Prepare monthly project reports including financial, risk, project management, safety and environment metrics


About You

  • Tertiary qualification in project management, engineering or equivalent
  • Min. 5 years’ experience in Engineering, Rail, Project Management and Construction Management
  • Extensive Project Management delivery experience in an operating environment, preferably a regulated environment.
  • Experience managing Rail Projects
  • Excellent communicator across all levels of management and staff (verbal and written)
  • A collaborative leader who seeks to work with the team, internally and externally
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
