ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a skilled Electrician to support the delivery of Signals Renewals and Signals Maintenance across our network. This role involves completing planned works, while also responding to reactive tasks and faults as they arise.
This is a permanent role based at our Docklands infrastructure depot, and plays a vital role in maintaining critical infrastructure. You will be working Monday to Friday, 7:30am-3:30pm.
Overtime opportunities are available, and there will be the expectation to occasionally work weekends and nightshifts
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry out planned and reactive electrical works, including installation, repair and maintenance of signalling and communications equipment.
- Complete complex maintenance, construction and installation tasks, including data entry into fault and maintenance systems.
- Work independently or within a team under limited supervision, performing manual and technical duties as required.
- Ensure safety of all personnel around signalling assets and follow all OHS, legislative and Metro policies and procedures.
- Identify hazards, review safe work method statements, and report incidents immediately to the Officer in Charge.
- Support planning by accurately reporting daily work completed, time worked, progress updates and any issues.
- Contribute to team capability by coaching junior staff and participating in on-the-job instruction, toolbox talks and pre/post-work meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Mandatory
- Qualified Electrical Tradesperson with a current A-Class Electrical Licence.
- Proven experience as an electrician in construction or a similarly complex industry.
- Current driver’s licence.
Preferred
- First Aid Level 2
- Train Track Safety Awareness
- Rail industry experience
