Signalling Assurance Lead

The Position

Join a collaborative team with vast experience across Melbourne’s rail network, undertaking support functions within the Engineering – Signals division as our Lead Signal Assurance Engineer

Your role will involve leading a small team focused on the support of upholding and promoting MTM internal quality procedures for both internal and external project works.  Work within OCE and report to the MTM Signalling Assurance Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review of signalling arrangement plans (SAP) to ensure the application of MTM operational requirements and quality processes while monitoring the sequence and engineering calculations.
  • Assurance of signal testing and commissioning system integration including undertaking witness testing and audit of document control, engineering change notices, design practice & waivers.
  • Supporting project completions conducting assurance activities to satisfy MTM quality processes.
  • Leading the MTM signal sighting activities; facilitating meetings, workshops and site visits alongside INX investigations and solutions. 
  • Leading investigations as part of the SPAD investigations group.
  • Conduct audits of signalling design and testing processes, including review of pre & post testing and commissioning plans and undertaking witness testing.
  • Maintain collaborate relationships with all internal and external stakeholders associated with MTM.
     

Demonstrated Experience

  • Experience leading small teams.
  • Demonstrated signal design production, checking and verification at the principles level.
  • Proven experience as Tester in Charge on large scale projects,  providing technical engineering services in railway signalling, system design, review, and other similar services
  • Experience in CBTC systems (desirable)
  • Proven ability to analyse data and to write and present reports.
  • Demonstrated understanding of signalling delivery requirements and processes.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering or equivalent (e.g. MIRSE) – Signalling & Assurance 
  • Principle Signal Designer. - Willingness to obtain within 12 months, MTM Statement of Competency
