Position Overview

Metro have a rare opportunity for Signalling Assurance Manager to be the driver of ensuring Engineering standards are being maintained. This is an opportunity merge your signalling and leadership experience in a role that will see you being responsible for managing a team of Engineers to develop and maintain Signalling Assurance activities/processes across Engineering.

The output of the position will be to ensure the production of Signalling Arrangement Plans and Control Tables meet the business requirements in order for others to undertake the detail design in order for construction to take place.  You will guide and lead your team who will ensure assurance activities such as signal sighting, auditing and witnessing testing activities are executed to standard.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop the necessary tools, techniques and resources to meet the emerging requirements
  • Interpret standards, operating rules and procedures, RAMS requirements, policies and the like to be applied to scheme design to meet the functional requirements
  • Lead and manage the Design Assurance & review team to ensure KPIs are met (recent Signalling Design experience is preferred)
  • Maintain collaborate relationships with all relevant stakeholders both internal and external
  • Overview of the system architecture to meet the RAMS requirements
  • Reviews of signalling arrangement plans and other documentation to allow development of detail design by others
  • Promote and reinforce leadership and behaviours to drive positive implementation of change
  • Provide expert advice and support to those providing the detailed design to assist in the successful delivery of the required outcomes

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • An Engineering Degree, with professional registration coupled with experience in Railway Signal design, construction and/or maintenance, within an urban passenger railway environment will be highly regarded
  • Previous experience working with numerous stakeholders where you have demonstrated diplomacy in working together to reach the best outcome for the project
  • Hold or working towards an MTM Statement of Competency in Signalling Design or IRSE Design License  
  • Proven experience working within a similar role within the rail industry
