Our Operations & Passenger Delivery team is committed to keep Melbourne moving by delivering exceptional passenger experiences through on-time, reliable, safe and efficient services. 

We achieve this through face-to-face interactions by our frontline teams, supported by our safety operations, operational readiness, and network performance teams.

 

 

About the role

The Systems and Assurance Coordinator role has a particular focus on supporting the Business Resilience Team (BRT) in emergency management assurance and plan delivery - including coordination of governance, exercising, and capability maintenance - to support management of emergency risk and continuous improvement. The role will also be required to support teams in the broader Safety Operations department.


More role responsibilities include:

  • Co-ordination elements of the role include: emergency management training and exercise programs; critical infrastructure and equipment awareness programs; the organisation of governance forums and committees; BRT audit participation and implementation; assist with workshops, risk assessments and reviews and other stakeholder events as required.
  • Governance elements of the role include: The monitoring of reporting requirements in line with compliance standards; note tasks and corrective actions tracking via incident management systems; emergency documentation review and updates; development and maintenance of required business registers; the monitoring and facilitation of reporting on compliance with established KPIs for the business.
  • Support elements of the role include: support the Incident Management Team (IMT) readiness; assist and support business planning; the implementation of Summer readiness actions; implementation of the lessons learned process; ensure legislative compliance (Part 7A Audit & Exercise arrangements); administration activities related to investigations, Safety Operations intranet presence and SharePoint sites maintenance; additional projects as they arise.

 

About you

  • Excellent Project Management skills and experience, with any relevant qualifications.
  • Strong experience in the coordination of assurance and governance activities.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of the business, both internally and externally with various communication methods (verbal & written).
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities with critical deadlines.
  • Experience in the use of action tracking systems such as incident and safety reporting systems or equivalent.
  • Experience in business resilience and emergency management is preferred.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, including Occupation Health and Safety Act, Rail Safety National Law, and the Emergency Management Act is preferred.   
  • Rail industry knowledge and experience is preferred.
