About the role
Our office of the Chief Engineer is seeking a motivated person with drafting experience to help deliver MTM’s Asset Renewals Program. As a Draftsperson, you will support the Design Production team and Engineering Department where you will be drafting structural designs. You will be responsible for validating all documentation and drawings, in accordance with PTV/DMS standards.
The role will be based out of our Docklands office on Collins Street, where you will be reporting to our Drafting Supervisor.
Key role responsibilities
- Predominantly drafting structural drawings with occasional track and civil drawings where required
- Ensure design drawings are compliant wih PTV/DMS drafting standards
- Provide specialist support in both MicroStation and AutoCAD documentation
- Provide efficient and effective drafting support to the Production and Engineering groups to meet Key Performance Indicators of the Office of the Chief Engineer
- Support the Document Controller/s DMS in the administrative control of documentation/drawings for incorporation into the PTV/DMS - Drawing Management System
- Support and liaise with Projects to ensure drafting documentation are controlled and delivered accordingly to the Production and Engineering groups requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualification in Engineering Drafting or equivalent requirement
- Demonstrated experience in drafting skills on AutoCAD (mandatory) and MicroStation (preferred)
- Have experienced works related to Signals, Track & Structures and Electrical
- Knowledge and experience within the Melbourne Metropolitan Rail Network would also be highly regarded
