We are currently looking for a Facilities Technical Lead – Fire Systems will provide technical expertise related to the Fire Service Assets within the MTM Network as part of the Infrastructure Facilities Department Technical Maintenance Plan.  The role will ensure that Maintenance and Renewal activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner ensuring that all MTM Facilities are fit for purpose.

 

 

Key Areas of Responsibility

 

 

The role is part of a team of engineers that are subject matter experts (SME) that will support the Production Manager with the Maintenance and Renewal activities as required for all MTM Fire Service assets throughout the MTM Network.

 

•           To ensure that all Maintenance and Renewal activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner ensuring that all MTM Facilities are fit for purpose.

•           Ensure delivery of the Fire Services maintenance is compliant with the Technical Maintenance Plan

•           Ensure the management of faults is compliant with relevant Standards and Procedures

•           Manage the compilation of evidence and coordinate sign off of the Annual Compliance Statements, Annual Essential Safety Measures Report, Annual Tunnel Life Safety Systems Report and other statutory requirements

•           Complete fault investigations and root cause analysis including liaison with relevant internal and external SMEs

•           Test witness execution of routine maintenance and corrective works by Fire Services sub-contractor

•           Ensure interface testing is completed with all potential impacts mitigated

•           Ensure the fire systems isolation procedure is compliantly implemented

•           Drive business maintenance improvement to modernise the business for the future, through improved work practices, staffing and technology

•           Ensure that the maintenance practices meet all legislative and regulatory requirements, as well as relevant maintenance standards and processes

•           Assist Maintenance and Renewals Managers with delivery of priority tasks.

•           Ensure continuous improvement is achieved through managing fault reviews and investigations.

•           Lead and drive performance and accountability through daily visualisation reports and meetings

 

 

 

 About You

 

 

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering is preferred with experience in fire systems.
  • Enjoy going out to various sites around the network.
  • Extensive experience with Fire Regulations
  • Knowledge of AS8151 legislation
  • Ability to understand technical and non-technical system documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and challenge standards and protocols to achieve improved engineering outcomes.
  • Ability to understand complex issues, assess risks and benefits of alternative solutions and communicate this information to Clients in a way they clearly understand the impacts of their decisions.
  • Strong stakeholder management experience to work collaboratively and build strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Solid report writing, analytical ability Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge and ability and critical thinking with the ability to work autonomously.
