About the role: 
As a Civil & Track Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the planning, design, and construction of railway infrastructure. You will be responsible for developing innovative and cost-effective civil engineering solutions while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Your expertise in track design will be utilised to optimise track systems, ensuring their integrity, safety, and efficiency.    

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Undertake civil engineering design activities, including alignment, earthworks, drainage, and structural elements, to support the development and maintenance of railway infrastructure.  

  • Develop and review track designs, including alignment, gauge, rail profiles, turnouts, and drainage systems, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.  

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate civil and track designs with other railway infrastructure components, such as signalling systems and overhead wires.  

  • Utilise engineering software and tools to create detailed drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.  

  • Conduct track surveys, inspections, and assessments to identify design issues and propose improvement measures.  

  • Provide technical expertise and support during the construction, testing, and commissioning phases of railway projects.  

  • Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to ensure safety and operational efficiency.  

  • Keep up-to-date with industry advancements and best practices in civil and track design engineering.  
      

About you:  

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.  

  • Proven experience in civil design engineering, preferably within the rail, road or transportation industry.  

  • Solid knowledge of civil engineering principles, including alignment, earthworks, drainage, and structural design.  

  • Strong expertise in (track) design principles, standards, and regulations.  

  • Proficiency in relevant engineering software, such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Bentley Rail Track.
