The Track Access Desk Officer plays a key role in managing and overseeing all requests to access the Metro Trains Rail Network. You will ensure each request is assessed, approved, and aligned with safety requirements.


This role is essential to maintaining safe rail operations and provides expert support and guidance to Track Force Protection Coordinators.


This is a permanent position based in West Melbourne/Docklands and operates on a rotating 24/7 roster to ensure continuous coverage.

 

Role responsibilities

 

  • Manage and document all Track Access requests in ARMS, ensuring safe work systems and protection are in place.
  • Approve, deny, or cancel access requests based on safety requirements.
  • Provide advice and act as the first point of contact for safeworking and track protection enquiries.
  • Respond to after-hours requests for safeworking resources.
  • Handle escalations and communicate on safeworking incidents or unsafe conditions.
  • Record, report, and escalate issues or incidents to the Track Access Desk Supervisor.

 
About you
 

  • Track Force Protection Coordinator 3.3, with at least two years infield experience
  • Sound knowledge of Safeworking operations, practices and procedures undertaken across the Network
  • Extensive knowledge of MTM Rail Network
  • Substantial experience providing service across multiple business areas in a large organisation
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high volume of critical communications
