About the Role
As a Technical Lead, you’ll be delivering the Track Renewals Annual Infrastructure Works Plan. You will be planning and delivering Track Renewals activities such as station pit renewals, ballast renewals, sleeper renewals and level crossing renewals during weekend occupations.
Your role is all about making sure everything runs smoothly, safely and efficiently with a focus on delivering the best possible outcomes for the network.
This is a permanent position located in West Melbourne, where you’ll be intermittently working on-site across the Melbourne Metro Network. Ordinary work hours are Monday to Friday, however some flexibility is required as you’ll also help oversee and manage weekend operations when needed, and in particular weekends where you are responsible for delivering.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning and delivery of Weekend Track Renewals, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with MTM standards and procedures.
- Provide technical expertise across maintenance and renewals, including interpreting engineering designs and planning works accordingly.
- Prepare and present Renewals Works Briefing Packs to the team to communicate quality, safety, and program priorities.
- Monitor work quality, address deficiencies, and ensure alignment with standards, scope, and design requirements.
- Engage and manage stakeholders, perform risk assessments, and drive continuous improvement in safety and efficiency.
- Support team development through technical leadership, mentoring, and participation in planning, budgeting, and resource management.
About you
- Tertiary qualification in a technical field or a Cert IV in a rail-related discipline
- Experience in a similar position with occupation delivery experience and/or a project management background
- Strong stakeholder management experience working with senior level, other disciplines and operational staff
- A valid Victorian Drivers Licence
