About the role

 

We’re seeking a Track Force Protection Coordinator to oversee Safeworking planning, control, and compliance during track possessions. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring all legislative and regulatory requirements are met while optimising Safeworking plans to maximize efficiency and minimize operational disruptions.

This role will be based at E Gate, in our Electrical Networks team. This role is night shift 7pm-4am.

 

 

Key role responsibilities

 

  • Ensure adherence to all legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Supervise, plan, and control Safeworking resources during track possessions, including contract resources
  • Oversee the safe and effective delivery of routine and reactive maintenance, renewals, and upgrades of railway assets
  • Optimize Safeworking plans to maximize rail safety, increase time on tools, and minimize disruptions to rail operations
  • Participate in investigations of accidents and safety incidents related to Metro's infrastructure
  • Ensure Metro staff and contractors apply correct Safeworking methods in the field
  • Support management in evaluating and implementing Safeworking procedural changes or proposals
  • Develop strong working relationships with maintenance personnel to maximise track time and reduce mobilisation delays
  • Provide Safeworking planning advice to management to enhance efficiency and productivity
  • Perform any other duties as specified by the manager

 

 

Qualifications & Experience

 

  • Track Force Protection Coordinator – Level 2 (unrestricted)
  • Demonstrated Rail Operational Safeworking experience, including supervision in large, complex, and multi-discipline environments
  • Track Force Protection Coordinator – Level 3 (unrestricted) would be highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Melbourne Railway Network
    • Incident management and reporting
    • Book of Operating Rules and Procedures (1994)
    • Work on Track Safeworking competency management
    • Work on Track application
