About the Role

The Traffic Management Coordinator supports the Traffic Management Lead in delivering consistent, safe and efficient traffic management outcomes across the Infrastructure Division. This role provides coordination, planning support and operational oversight to ensure traffic management requirements are identified early, integrated into project planning and delivered in accordance with relevant standards, legislation and organisational requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain oversight of traffic management activities across the Infrastructure Division, including supporting disruptive planning meetings and providing specialist traffic management advice to facilitate safe access, egress and successful project delivery.
  • Support the development and implementation of consistent traffic management processes, templates and guidance materials while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, codes of practice, standards and organisational procedures.
  • Monitor contractor performance, undertake quality assurance activities and support incident investigations and corrective actions to promote safe, compliant and effective traffic management outcomes.
  • Determine and coordinate traffic management requirements for Infrastructure works, ensuring they are identified early and incorporated into project planning, scheduling and occupation delivery activities.

 

About You

  • Relevant qualification in Traffic Management, Civil Engineering, Transport Planning or a related discipline.
  • Traffic Management Designer qualifications:
    • RIISS00065 – Motorways and Freeways (TMD3)
    • RIISS00064 – High Volume Roads (TMD2)
    • RIISS00063 – Urban Streets and Low Volume Rural Roads (TMD1)
  • Experience developing and managing Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) and Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGSs) for large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of traffic control standards, road authority requirements and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven ability to coordinate traffic management activities across multiple projects while ensuring compliance, safety and efficiency.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and negotiation skills, with experience using data and reporting insights to support operational decision-making and continuous improvement.
