About the Role
 

The Training Manager is responsible for the management, leadership and oversight of training programs within our Infrastructure division who design, deliver and coordinate a variety training for approximately 1300 employees. 
 

This position is based in the Docklands/West Melbourne area and is a max term contract position until June 2026.
 

A key focus for this position is to ensure all new and existing training programs align with statutory and regulatory requirements, workforce capability needs and Metro’s strategic objectives. 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead 8 direct reports and a wider team of 30 employees
  • Establish and manage relationships with Metro Academy, Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), skills councils, government regulators, and external training providers to ensure quality learning outcomes
  • Engage with internal stakeholders, including Infrastructure discipline leaders, project teams, and safety teams, to ensure training programs align with operational and compliance requirements.
  • Oversee the Infrastructure apprenticeship and traineeship programs, ensuring compliance with training plans, schedules, and industry requirements.
  • Implement processes to drive high-performance training outcomes, ensuring training programs align with business priorities and regulatory requirements.

 

About you

 

  • Strong experience in leading high-performing teams and delivering training outcomes in a complex operational environment.
  • Significant stakeholder management and relationship building skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines
  • Experience working in a regulatory environment 
  • Ability to manage training budgets and resource allocation effectively.
