Due to growth and expansion, we are looking for a Workplace Relations Technical Manager to provide subject matter expertise and guidance for high risk and complex workplace relations matters.
This role will provide advice and guidance on the interpretation and application of the Metro Trains Enterprise Agreement to members of the Workplace Relations team members so that; complex and cross divisional issues are resolved consistent with the Metro industrial relations objectives while also ensuring operational compliance with all three Metro Enterprise Agreements and legislative obligations.
This position is fixed term for 12 months
Reporting into the Head of Workplace Relations & Injury Management, has the following key areas of responsibility.

- Provide technical advice on complex employment legislation matters to members of the workplace relations team during the management of industrial disputes
- Represent Metro Transit matters before external forums including the Fair Work Commission
- Act as a conduit between workplace relations and the internal legal team regarding complex and high risk workplace matters.
- Provide strategic technical industrial advice to the workplace relations team.
About You
- Relevant Workplace Relations tertiary or similar experience.
- Demonstrable experience in managing the resolution of highly complex and technical workplace relations matters in a highly regulated and complex environment.
- High level of understanding in relation to employment law and the application of enterprise agreements.
- Demonstrable senior stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to distil complex industrial relations information into effective communications easily understood by business leaders and front line managers.
- Demonstrated capacity to work confidentially in highly sensitive environments.
- Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills, with an ability to prioritise and manage workload, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Comprehensive report writing & analytical skills
