About the Role
The Track Trainer plays a key role in building a safe, capable and high‑performing Track workforce. As the Subject Matter Expert for Track, you’ll deliver and assess high‑quality training that supports safety, compliance and operational excellence across the network.
Working closely with Track leadership, Engineering, Projects and Compliance teams, you’ll provide trusted technical expertise and ensure training aligns with MTM standards, regulatory requirements and industry best practice.
This role offers the opportunity to influence capability development and make a meaningful impact on how people work safely in and around track.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Track training programs and competency assessments to ensure safe and effective employee performance
- Plan, schedule and coordinate training activities in line with operational priorities and training requirements
- Develop, review and continuously improve training materials, manuals and supporting resources
- Conduct Verification of Competency (VOC) assessments and monitor trainee progress, providing clear feedback and reporting
- Provide SME advice on Track assets to support Engineering, Projects, and operational teams including training needs analysis
- Ensure all training and assessment activities meet regulatory, legislative and MTM compliance requirements
- Maintain accurate training records, reporting, and documentation while contributing to ongoing improvement of training outcomes
About You
- Experienced Track worker with current competency and strong working knowledge of Track operations
- Certificate II and III in Rail Infrastructure, TTSA and Plant Controller Restricted
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong understanding of relevant rail safety legislation, standards and compliance frameworks
- Proven ability to design, deliver and assess competency-based training programs
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across all levels
- Strong organisational and computer skills, with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
